How Does Reiki Work?
We are all alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.
Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

Description of A Typical Reiki Session:
A session is usually 60 to 90 minutes long. A discussion will usually take place during an initial session with a Reiki Practitioner. They will describe the session to the client, give the client an opportunity to discuss any particular problems, or issues they are experiencing and ask them what they are hoping to achieve from their session. For the actual session, the client will rest comfortably on a massage table on their back with their shoes removed. Reiki can be performed with the client sitting comfortably in a chair as well. Unlike massage therapy, no articles of clothing are removed and a client is always fully clothed; loose, comfortable clothing is suggested. A session can either be hands-on, where a Practitioner will apply a light touch during the session, or hands-off, where they will hold their hands slightly above your body. If a client prefers not to be touched they can indicate this to the practitioner before they begin.
The session will then proceed with the Reiki Practitioner moving through specific Reiki hand positions, beginning at the person's head or feet. A recipient of Reiki might feel a warming sensation, a tingling during the session, or nothing at all but sheer relaxation. The session should be very pleasant, relaxing and invigorating.

What are the benefits of Reiki?
1. Relieves stress. A healthy life has minimal stress. This negative element causes dozens of medical problems such as hypertension, cardiac issues and kidney disease.
2. Improves sleep. A calm frame of mind is important for a good night's sleep. The result is improved mental alertness and fewer aches and pains.
3. Creates a positive mental outlook. The soothing environment and gentle, non-invasive touch associated with Reiki sets the stage for a relaxing experience open to positive life possibilities.
4. Stimulates the immune system. The immune system is constantly under attack by allergies, cancers, infectious diseases, and other disorders. Reiki provides fresh supplies of vital life energy to boost immunity naturally and help maintain health.
5. Fosters living in the present. Reiki allows recipients to push aside looming things over which they have no control and focus on the present. This leads to creative problem solving.

REIKI TRAINING & CERTIFICATION
Reiki Level I
WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki is a natural and safe method of alternative healing through which individuals can achieve self-improvement and self-healing. Reiki works on many levels: mind, body, and spirit. Reiki is a process based on Life Force Energy and was founded by Mikao Usui.
There are three levels of attainment towards a Master level Reiki Healer. The Reiki students starts out at Level 1 and is open to everyone.
In this initiation stage the student is introduced to the concept of universal energy and receives attunements. Reiki 1 works mainly on the physical level and focuses on opening the channels of energy bringing the student into the realm of Reiki and its uses. During Level 1 the student works through her own healing. After successful completion of class, certification and dedicated self-work practice a student will be ready to move on to the next levels of training; Reiki 2 and Reiki 3.
What Is It Used to Treat?
Reiki is a great tool for stress reduction and relaxation. Many people use Reiki for wellness.
